During the past decade, the emphasis on environment-friendly products has added new challenges to our business and we are constantly striving to ensure that all our products meet these stringent requirements. We always keep track of environmental law requirements and ensure their compliance. In addition, Capricorn Apparels send products for testing to internationally-approved centres from time to time.

AZO Printing & Dyestuff
As per European Law (March 30 1995), a total ban has been declared on 21 arylamines that are not allowed to be split from dyes under reductive conditions. MAK III A1 & A2 contain these arylamines. The ban list is constantly growing and textile laboratories worldwide are updated regularly.

Formaldehyde
No fabric should exceed the following: Children's Wear: 30mg/kg; Adult's Wear: 100mg/kg.

PCP (Pentachlorophenol)
Imported goods must not exceed 0.5 ppm (mg/kg)

Banned Chemicals
Cadmium, Benzedrine, Lindane/Dieldrin, Chlorinated Paraffins, Diclordifenyltrikloretan ((DDT)).

Nickel Content
Metal accessories must not contain more than 0.5mg. per square cm/week for a period of at least two years of normal use of the product.

Aromatic Compounds
Goods with smell/odour that comes from kerosene or turpentine are not acceptable.
